How you access the practice has changed

Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic, the way you access the Practice has changed. We are trying to safely resume as many of our services as possible, but we would ask you not to attend surgery unless asked to do so by a Clinician. If you do need to attend surgery please wear a face covering.

We would ask you to continue to telephone the surgery if you wish to arrange a telephone review or face to face appointment.  You can also contact us via e-mail or eConsult.

Our Reception Team are trained in Care Navigation so will need to ask for a brief description of your problem to signpost you to the most appropriate person.

Under the direction of the GPs, our Care Navigators will be able to advise if your problem can be dealt with on the telephone or if you will need a face to face examination.

A lot of things do not need to be dealt with by a GP and can be better dealt with by other services such as our Clinical Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner

  • The surgery is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6.30 pm. If you have an urgent problem during these times please ring the surgery. At all other times ring NHS 111

  • Non-urgent problems, queries or sick note requests can be dealt with via eConsult. The Practice will respond within 2 working days

  • Face coverings are recommended when entering the building

  • Please ensure on entering the premises you wash your hands using the wall mounted sanitisers

  • Our reception area has changed and you will see some chairs have signs on them not to use, this is to ensure patients attending surgery can safely socially distance whilst waiting for their appointment.

  • There is screening at our reception desk to protect you and our staff

Online Booking

We have had to temporarily suspend on-line booking for Face to Face appointments. We are still offering a small number of pre-bookable or on the day telephone appointments.

Prescriptions

We would encourage patients not to attend surgery to order their prescription and we are unable to take prescription requests over the telephone. If you require a prescription please either e-mail your request to warccg.springfieldspx@nhs.net or if you are registered for on-line services, you can order your prescription through this service.

PLEASE DO NOT TELEPHONE THE SURGERY TO CHECK YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS READY AS THIS IS PUTTING ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON OUR TELEPHONES. PRESCRIPTIONS ARE PROCESSED WITHIN 2 WORKING DAYS
