WELCOME TO OUR NEW GP
DR SHARMILA ARMITAGE
Dr Armitage will be working with the Practice from Monday 13 August 2018
Dr Armitage grew up in South Wales and moved to London to complete her medical training at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School. She knew she wanted to be a GP from the outset so did vocational training at West Middlesex Hospital. Following this she moved up North and settled in Lymm. She was initially a salaried GP in Preston for a year and then in Leigh for the past 13 years.
During this time she has developed an interest in women’s health and family planning. She is qualified to fit both coils and implants. She also has an interest in palliative care and, being a GP trainer, in medical education.
As well as sessions in surgery she is Clinical Director GP Out of Hours based in Wigan.
When not at work she enjoys choir, dance and her two teenage daughters keep her busy!
ALSO INTRODUCING OUR NEW ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER
Liz will be working with the Practice from Monday 20 August 2018
Liz was born and raised in Warrington. She went to Chester University to do her nurse training and completed this in 2000. She has worked in Warrington A and E, Widnes Urgent Care centre and also several GP surgeries. She has completed her Masters module in clinical examination and diagnostics. She has also completed her prescribing course.
